Electrohydraulic thrusters ELDROclassic®
Electrohydraulic Thrusters ELDROclassic® Series Ed
The electrohydraulic thruster ELDROclassic® Series Ed by EMG is the industry benchmark for reliable and safe actuation in modern industrial brake systems. Drawing on over 75 years of engineering excellence, these thrusters are designed to meet the rigorous demands of heavy-duty applications such as ports, steelworks, mining, and raw material extraction.
Application & Mode of Operation
ELDROclassic® combines all elements of a hydraulic actuation system into a compact unit. When de-energized, the piston is in its bottom position; when energized, the hydraulic pump moves operating fluid beneath the piston, generating pressure to lift the piston to its full stroke. This allows seamless integration into industrial brake systems, overcoming the counterforce of integrated or external springs, with the stroke length easily adapted to application requirements. The system’s hydraulic principle and robust construction ensure lasting, wear-free performance even in extreme conditions.
Key Advantages
- High operational safety and reliability
- Wear-free, self-lubricating operation for long service life
- Soft and impact-free movement thanks to hydrodynamic technology
- Short actuating times and high switching frequencies (up to 2,000 cycles/hour)
- Continuous operation (S1) in temperatures from -25°C to +50°C (expandable to -45°C to +80°C)
- No risk of mechanical overload during operation
- No thermal protective circuit required
- Simple installation, de-installation, and commissioning
- Stepless extension of lifting/lowering times via optional valves
- Multiple protective features: redundant seals, IP65 (standard) to IP68 (optional), corrosion protection, and chromium-plated piston rods
- Flexible voltage and frequency options; compatible with 230/400 V, 50 Hz as standard
